ROME. He felt ill while he was in the pool with his summer camp companions. Everything happened this morning – Wednesday, July 22 – in the municipal swimming pool of Monterotondo, in the province of Rome, to a 5-year-old child who lost his life.
The child was inside the pool with about 15 other summer camp companions when he fell ill. Immediate rescue efforts: 118 personnel, who also intervened with the help of an air ambulance, tried to save him with resuscitation maneuvers, but there was nothing that could be done for him. The causes and dynamics of the event are under investigation. The carabinieri coordinated by the Tivoli prosecutor’s office were also on site.
