The Ministry of Health has issued three new recall notices concerning food products sold in large-scale retail. The reports, also received from the supermarket chains involved, concern the presence of pesticides beyond the limits allowed by European legislation. The affected products are a batch of Carnaroli rice, a whole grain Roma rice, and a pasta and bean kit.

Carnaroli Rice: Tetramethrin beyond limits
The first recall concerns a batch marketed under the brand Tenca Colombo & C.. The ministerial notice indicates the presence of the insecticide tetramethrin in quantities exceeding the permitted values.
The product is packaged in 1 kg bags, identified by lot 13022036 and with a minimum shelf life of March 31, 2027. Production was carried out by Riseria di Morano snc, with a plant located in Morano sul Po, in the province of Alessandria.
Whole Grain Roma Rice: Chlorpyrifos above threshold
The was communicated by Il Gigante supermarkets, which reported a batch of Riso Vignola brand whole grain Roma rice. Analyses revealed the presence of the insecticide chlorpyrifos, an organophosphate banned in Europe, with values of 0.037 mg/kg ± 0.018 mg/kg, well beyond the limit set for rice (0.01 mg/kg). The product is sold in 1 kg packages, lot 24102025, with a best before date of October 24, 2027. Production was carried out by Riseria Vignola Giovanni Spa, based in Balzola, also in the province of Alessandria.

Pasta and Bean Kit: Possible presence of glyphosate
The concerns a kit for preparing pasta and beans, reported for a possible presence of glyphosate in the dried beans contained in the package. Glyphosate, a widely discussed herbicide in recent years, is subject to very strict limits, and its eventual presence requires immediate verification and precautionary withdrawal.
What consumers should do
Anyone who has purchased one of the indicated products is advised not to consume it and to return it to the point of sale, where they can obtain a replacement or refund. The recalls do not involve other batches or variants of the same products.
