The first two weeks of the month will be characterized by the highest traffic flows heading towards the main tourist destinations, with an intensification of circulation starting from Friday and throughout Saturday. In particular, today, Friday, August 7, is marked by two red dots for the morning and afternoon due to heavy traffic with possible critical issues.

The morning time slot tomorrow, Saturday, August 8, is marked by a black dot, representing moments of maximum criticality. For Sunday, August 9, the morning time slot is marked by a yellow dot, heavy traffic, and the afternoon by a red one, intense with possible critical issues.
The Ferragosto week
Starting from the Ferragosto week, Viabilità Italia expects the continuation of holiday departures, which will likely be accompanied by the start of the first phase of the counter-exodus, expected from Sunday, August 16. Returns will progressively gain more weight in the second half of the month, with peaks concentrated between Sunday and Monday, August 17.

Along the Anas network, traffic is expected to steadily increase for the second weekend of August. Viabilità Italia forecasts a black dot tomorrow morning, Saturday, August 8, while there is a red dot in the afternoons of today, tomorrow, and Sunday: this afternoon and Saturday morning for increasing movements from large urban centers and for short weekends to holiday and seaside destinations; Sunday afternoon for returns to large cities. Heavy vehicle transit ban
The heavy vehicle transit ban is in effect today, Friday, August 7 from 4 pm to 10 pm, Saturday, August 8 from 8 am to 10 pm, and Sunday, August 9 from 7 am to 10 pm. The intensification of circulation may affect the main tourist routes: the A2 “Autostrada del Mediterraneo” crossing Campania, Basilicata, and Calabria; state roads 106 Jonica and 18 Tirrena Inferiore in Calabria; the A19 Palermo-Catania and A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo highways in Sicily; state road 131 Carlo Felice in Sardinia; state road 148 Pontina in Lazio, a particularly busy artery that together with SS7 “Appia” ensures connections between Rome and the tourist destinations of southern Lazio; the E45 route (SS675 and SS3 bis) affecting Umbria, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna and connecting the northeast with central Italy; the SS1 Aurelia (Lazio, Tuscany, and Liguria), SS16 Adriatica (Puglia, Molise, Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna, and Veneto) routes.
In the north, the RA13 and RA14 motorway links in Friuli-Venezia Giulia towards border crossings, the SS36 Lake Como and Spluga in Lombardy, the SS45 Val Trebbia in Liguria, the SS26 Valle D’Aosta and the SS309 Romea between Emilia-Romagna and Veneto, and the SS51 Alemagna in Veneto.
Speed control
Starting from August 4, new tutor speed control systems, Vergilius Plus, are operational in agreement and collaboration with the Traffic Police, on 36 Anas road sections, of which 26 along the A2 “Autostrada del Mediterraneo”, for about 100 km in the Campania stretch between Salerno and Buonabitacolo. Other sections concern the north, in the Ravenna area, state road 309 “Romea”, from km 1.680 to km 7.080, the center, in the metropolitan area of Rome, state road 1 “Via Aurelia”, from km 11.950 to km 23.500, the south, in Campania, state road 7 “Quater Via Domitiana”, in Pozzuoli, from km 44.630 to km 54.300, and state road 145 “Var Sorrentina”, inside the Santa Maria di Pozzano tunnel, from km 0.072 to km 4.950.
