Basic rules for the provision of services related to electrified quays. The process for adopting the national guidelines for the issuance of cold ironing service concessions, prepared by the Directorate General for Ports, Logistics and Intermodality of the MIT, has in fact been completed.
«This is – reads a note from the Ministry – the first comprehensive national guidance document dedicated to the regulation of the procedures for awarding the service of supplying electricity from shore to moored ships, with the aim of ensuring clear, uniform and transparent criteria for all Port System Authorities».
The Guidelines represent a fundamental operational tool to accompany the commissioning phase of infrastructures already built or under completion in Italian ports, offering the AdSP a shared methodological framework for the preparation of tenders and for the management of organizational, economic and contractual aspects of the service.

«The document – continues the MIT note – is the result of an intense institutional dialogue involving the Port System Authorities, the General Command of the Coast Guard Corps and the main trade associations of the port and energy sectors, through specific consultation tables. The initiative is part of the broader cold ironing development program supported by MIT investments within the PNRR and the National Plan for Complementary Investments (PNC), with the aim of making Italian ports increasingly competitive, innovative and sustainable».
