Details on the affected batch
The recall involves the production batch 3105, distributed in packages of about 300 grams. The official documentation does not report the expiration date or the minimum shelf life. The reason for the withdrawal is a “microbiological non-compliance” due to the presence of the bacterium, a circumstance that led the authorities to recommend consumers not to consume the product if already purchased.
What is Listeria and why is it dangerous
Listeria monocytogenes is a microorganism that can contaminate various foods and cause listeriosis. In healthy people, the infection tends to manifest with gastrointestinal disorders or flu-like symptoms. However, the risk increases in certain categories: pregnant women, the elderly, newborns, and individuals with a compromised immune system, for whom the infection can take more severe forms.
