EMPOLI. Moments of great apprehension this morning (August 17) on the FiPiLi, where a woman driving a Renault risked entering the wrong way at the Empoli Ovest exit. By mistake, the driver took the ramp in the opposite direction of travel, coming close to causing a potentially very dangerous situation.
The worst was averted by a truck driver who was in the area and immediately noticed the mistake. The man tried to stop the driver, preventing her from continuing towards the highway in the wrong direction.
The video
The scene was captured by the camera installed on the truck. The footage, recorded on August 17, was then shared on the Facebook page “I Dannati della FiPiLi.” In the video, the Renault is seen advancing on the exit ramp the wrong way, while the truck driver reacts with concern and tries to get the woman’s attention.
The driver appears confused and, after realizing she took the wrong road, tries to figure out how to fix it. The truck driver gives her directions and invites her to make a maneuver to return in the correct direction. In the end, the woman manages to turn right and enter the FiPiLi in the right direction.

Fortunately no injuries
A risky maneuver, but fortunately it did not cause accidents or injuries. The consequences could have been much more serious if the driver had managed to reach the main carriageway going the wrong way. In that stretch, in fact, the presence of a left-hand bend could have made it even more difficult for other drivers to promptly notice the vehicle.
The video has sparked numerous comments on social media. Many users expressed gratitude towards the truck driver for immediately sensing the danger and helping to avoid a possible accident, while also highlighting the seriousness and danger of the mistake made by the driver.
