Less discount on diesel
In the new Mef decree, the discount on petrol is confirmed at 5 cents, while the discount on diesel is halved from 10 to 5 cents.

Next (possible) step
It is not excluded, according to what has been learned, that in a second phase the government will proceed with targeted measures for families and businesses, following the new EU flexibility for energy which frees up about 14 billion resources in deficit until 2028; almost 7 billion of the total can be spent this year. But with the necessary “constraints”, i.e. only for measures for energy sustainability and resilience and not for fossil fuels and therefore not to refinance any new excise duty cuts. Furthermore, if Italy did not exit the EU procedure on accounts, the expenses would be accounted for in the deficit.
