Alessandro Medici, a well-known face to the public for his participation in Temptation Island in 2020 alongside then-partner Sofia Calesso, passed away at 53 years old. The news of his death was confirmed by her, who posted an image on social media accompanied by a message of great affection: “You will always live inside me.” Medici leaves behind his mother, siblings, children Christian and Giulia, and grandchildren Penelope, Enea, and Nicholas. The funeral has been scheduled for Saturday, July 18 in Castel del Piano.
Confirmation of the passing and initial reconstructions
The news was first spread by Lorenzo Pugnaloni, who on his portal reported what was told by some people from the town: according to testimonies, Medici was seen in a bar the previous evening. The death occurred the following morning and, based on currently available information, was caused by a sudden heart attack. The official confirmation then came from Sofia Calesso, who shared an Instagram story in which Medici appears with his dog, an image chosen to remember him with sweetness and respect. No further details about the cause of death have been released at this time.
The love story and the experience on Temptation Island
Medici and Calesso participated in Temptation Island in 2020, bringing to the cameras a relationship already marked by tensions and mutual betrayals. After a few days in the program, it was Medici who asked for the confrontation bonfire, during which the two openly discussed the difficulties they had been experiencing for some time. Despite misunderstandings, both reaffirmed their feelings: he, in an interview, said he could not live without her.
That edition also featured Antonella Elia and Pietro Delle Piane, whom the couple chose as witnesses for the wedding they were supposed to celebrate in 2023, three years after the end of the program. The two, in fact, came out together.

Reflecting on the television experience, Calesso had said how much that journey had marked her:
“It is impossible to play, to be lighthearted. If you are in love, it is impossible. There my vulnerabilities and fears came out, but also Alessandro’s.” Their story, however, ended definitively in September 2025, after a decade of relationship. The breakup was caused by a painful event: the loss of the child Sofia was expecting. In an interview, she herself explained that she was unable to overcome that grief and ended up attributing part of her pain to Medici, making it impossible to continue together.
