SIENA. The firefighters from the Siena command, from the central headquarters, intervened at 13:15 today – Friday, September 4 – on the regional road 429 at km 1+400 in Gaiole in Chianti, for a road accident involving a convertible car with two occupants of English nationality on board.

The accident and the rescue
A team of firefighters was sent to the scene who stabilized the car that had ended up on its side by the roadside; the firefighting team thus ensured the safety of the area during the rescue operations by the 118 medical personnel who arrived at the accident site.

The victim
A 72-year-old man lost his life in the accident for whom the doctor declared death; the 73-year-old wife was also seriously injured. The regional Pegaso helicopter and the carabinieri also arrived on the scene for the necessary investigations.
