An evening that was supposed to be convivial turned into a tragedy in Palermo, where a two-year-old girl died after falling into a private pool on via Villagrazia. The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, August 27, while the little girl was with her parents and another family in a house equipped with an elevated pool.

The dynamics: the little girl climbs and falls into the water
According to initial reconstructions, the girl climbed the pool structure on her own, falling into the water without the adults present noticing. The alarm was raised around 11:30 PM, when the little girl was found unconscious. The parents immediately took her to the Guadagna medical guard, but all resuscitation attempts proved useless. The Prosecutor’s Office ordered the seizure of the body for an autopsy, while the ASP forensic doctor conducted a preliminary inspection, confirming the absence of signs of violence.

The Palermo Prosecutor’s Office has opened a file to clarify the exact dynamics of the event. The investigation is entrusted to the carabinieri of the Verdi company, who have interviewed the girl’s parents and the couple present in the house at the time of the incident.
