Weather in Tuscany, break from the heat is coming: risk of strong thunderstorms and falling temperatures (but not everywhere)

Heat break coming? Probable, but in very specific areas of Tuscany. In fact, in the next few hours, a brief thunderstorm could occur even in Upper Tuscany, but this is, at the moment, still an unconfirmed hypothesis. The forecast maps, as explained by the Tuscan Weather Center, show a possible scenario, but not an absolute certainty.

Risk of thunderstorms

A particular situation, however, concerns the areas exposed towards Emilia-Romagna and Umbria. In the evening, Mugello and Casentino, as well as some areas of the Pistoia and Prato Apennines, could be affected by thunderstorms moving from Emilia towards Marche. The most intense phenomena are expected especially between Emilia-Romagna, Umbria, and Abruzzo, where locally violent thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Attention, the CMT still warns, for those who should travel in the next few hours, especially in the most exposed areas.

Mugello could also be affected, albeit temporarily, by intense phenomena.

Cooling down? Yes, but we have to settle for it

From tomorrow to Saturday, however, the arrival of slightly cooler and drier air is expected, which could bring some relief despite still high maximum temperatures. Locally, temperatures could reach or exceed 35 degrees, particularly in the Grosseto hinterland and the usual Florentine area. Minimum temperatures, however, should decrease by a few degrees, with a feeling of greater coolness especially in the Apennine basins.

Sunday with probable rain

Finally, on Sunday, the hypothesis of a rapid thunderstorm passage remains to be evaluated, with phenomena moving from west, therefore from the sea, towards east, in the direction of the Apennines. The situation is still evolving and it will be necessary to await further updates to define the affected areas with greater precision.
