ROME. The National Association of Port Companies and Enterprises (ANCIP) and the Department of Legal and Economic Studies of the University of Rome “La Sapienza” have signed an agreement to promote training and scientific activities in the fields of competition, market regulation, and transport. The collaboration will particularly involve the second-level university Master’s degree in “Competition and Market Regulation – Core,” directed by Professor Angelo Castaldo, associate professor of Finance Science at the Department of Legal and Economic Studies of Sapienza.
Ancip will contribute to activities dedicated to the regulation of transport and the port sector through seminars, professional testimonies, research projects, and opportunities for dialogue among students, professors, companies, and institutions. Particular importance will be given to the Transport Regulation module, directed by Professor Alessandro Zampone, deputy director of the Master and full professor of Navigation and Transport Law at Sapienza.
The agreement also provides for Ancip’s participation in the extended Steering Committee of the Master, to contribute to updating the training offer and strengthen the connection between academic knowledge and operational experience. At the heart of the collaboration will be the regulation of the port market, as a tool to combine competition, efficiency, quality of services, protection of companies, and safeguarding of employment.

The collaboration will offer students valuable tools to understand the new challenges of transport and port regulation, reconciling competition, efficiency, innovation, quality of services, and protection of employment.”
