The Ministry of Health has issued a recall concerning the Organic Blood Orange Juice 50 cl from the Libera Terra brand, produced by Arc en Ciel cop. Agr. coop. at the Cafasse (Turin) facility and marketed by the Consorzio Libera Terra Mediterraneo. The affected batch is 160627, with an expiration date of 16/06/2027.
Why the product was recalled
In the bottles belonging to the recalled batch, the presence of ethyl alcohol not declared on the label was found, amounting to about 2% by volume. According to the ministry’s report, the alcohol derives from an unwanted fermentation process, which altered the organoleptic characteristics of the juice and made it non-compliant with the sales denomination provided by the Directive 2001/112/EC on fruit juices.

What consumers should do
The Ministry urges anyone who has purchased the product not to consume it and to return it to the point of sale. Particular attention is recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and for those who, for health reasons, therapy, or personal choice, avoid alcohol consumption: the juice contains ethanol not indicated on the label.
