The Nepalese authorities have released an update on the number of missing persons involved in the large landslide that struck an area on the border between Nepal and Tibet, including two Italians: one is a 50-year-old from Rapallo, owner of a watchmaking and goldsmith shop.

This was reported by the Farnesina, adding that its Crisis Unit is conducting checks with local authorities, through the Italian Consulate General in Calcutta and the Honorary Consulate in Kathmandu, and with tour operators for possible confirmation. So far, about 130 compatriots reported in the area have been contacted.
On the instructions of Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, the dispatch of personnel to Kathmandu from the Embassy in New Delhi has been arranged, to strengthen the presence on site and assistance to compatriots.
