Ilenia Bazzacco, one of the protagonists of the first Italian edition of MasterChef, died at the age of 54. The contestant had been ill for about three years and was fighting a tumor. She leaves behind her husband Marco Montanino and their twin sons, Riccardo and Andrea, born in 1998.

Bazzacco, originally from Asolo (Treviso), took part in the first Italian season of the cooking show in 2011, managing to secure third place. In the program, she presented herself as a housewife and cooking enthusiast, a passion she continued to cultivate even after the television experience.
In the following years, she turned her interest in cooking into an increasingly followed activity, becoming a well-known face among cooking enthusiasts. Among the projects carried out after MasterChef was also “Timo e Vaniglia,” a blog dedicated to recipes and ingredients.
