According to local media reports, the plane carrying eleven tourists – in addition to the seven Italians, two Spaniards and two Germans – and two pilots crashed in the Pueblo Viejo area, in the Ica region, after losing contact with the control tower a few minutes after takeoff from Prisco. The aircraft belongs to the Aerodiana company.
Who are the victims
The seven victims of the plane crash in Peru were part of two families. They are: Elena Sala (58 years old); Matteo Gianturco (24 years old); Lorenzo Angelucci (24 years old); Massimo Angelucci (58 years old), Cristina Maria Bianco (57 years old); Paolo Gianturco (59 years old); Pietro Gianturco (18 years old). This is reported by Rpp, citing the flight plan and passenger list of the Aerodiana airline. It is learned that the two families were originally from the province of Monza Brianza and were friends with each other.

The accident
According to the reconstruction by the Peruvian media, a Cessna 208B grand caravan of the Aerodiana company crashed on Saturday, August 1 in the Pueblo Viejo area, in the province of Nazca, causing the immediate death of its 13 occupants. The accident occurred after the pilot declared an emergency at 13:01, about an hour after takeoff from Pisco airport for a tourist flight over the Nazca Lines. Rpp sources confirmed that 11 of the 13 victims were foreign tourists: seven Italians, two Germans and two Spaniards. The other two victims were crew members, both Peruvian. The crash site was in an agricultural area in the Pueblo Viejo sector, about 1.5 kilometers from the Panamericana Sud, in the southern part of the city of Nazca.
No survivors
After the violent impact, the first rescue teams to arrive on the scene confirmed the absence of survivors and found the plane, with registration number OB-2001, completely destroyed by flames. Immediately after crashing to the ground, the tourist plane carrying thirteen people – including seven Italian tourists – caught fire, preventing any possibility of rescue. This is the reconstruction of the accident provided by the Peruvian media. Authorities have ordered the transfer of the victims’ bodies to the Ica morgue, where autopsies will be performed. The consuls of Italy, Spain and Germany – countries from which the 11 victims of yesterday’s plane crash come – went to Nazca, where Peruvian authorities are engaged in investigations to determine the causes of the crash of the small Cessna. The bodies of the victims – including seven Italians – were transferred to the Ica morgue, where autopsies will be conducted, local media report. In recent hours, relatives in Italy have been informed of the accident by the Italian ambassador in Lima, Massimiliano Mazzanti, who is following the case in coordination with the Farnesina.
