BRESCIA. Tragic accident at the end of stage no. 4 of the Rally Mille Miglia day. In Bione, in the Brescia area, a car went off the track and hit and killed a man.

It is said to be a 60-year-old spectator. There was nothing to be done for the man and, despite the rescue efforts, he died.
The statement
«The 49th Rally 1000 Miglia was immediately suspended and subsequently stopped following an accident during the sixth special stage “Bione”». This is reported in a statement by the Rally 1000 Miglia itself after the fatal accident.
«At 14:56 car no. 42, the Skoda Fabia of Alessandro Zorzi, with co-driver Fabio Berisonzi, went off the road on the right hairpin after where the “end of special stage” was placed, and a person was involved – it reconstructs –. At 14:57 the race direction suspended the starts of the special stage and immediately started the rescue operations. Despite the immediate intervention and attempts to provide assistance, the person unfortunately died. In light of the seriousness of the event, the organizers, in agreement with the Federation, the authorities and the competent bodies, ordered the interruption of the event; the participating competitors were directed towards the Montichiari service park».
