ROME. The calm before the storm accompanies what could be the last hours of Sigfrido Ranucci hosting “Report” in the heat of an August never so hot at Rai. For the company, the decision is made, with the latest meetings seeming to outline the scenario of Ranucci being moved to another role, in a position compatible with his profile, also to avoid disputes over an alleged demotion.
Sealed lips on the role that will be proposed to the journalist perhaps already on Friday, at the close of a week of meetings and reflections.
Different is the case of the future of the investigative program, for which an internal solution within the ‘Report’ team has apparently gained ground – according to what was learned by LaPresse. The goal is to enhance the many professionals who work there, among whom some young people are considered very promising. In the new format, the reports would be introduced from time to time by one or more professionals present in the program. The names remain confidential, but those circulating most insistently around via Teulada are Giulia Innocenzi, Giorgio Mottola and Giulio Valesini.

It is not excluded, in any case, that someone outside this triad could emerge, always remaining within the current Report team. Which, on its part, is experiencing a moment of internal tension, with much of the editorial staff still aligned with Ranucci and the rest no longer solidly alongside the outgoing host. Proof of this is the fact that the document supporting Ranucci proposed by the journalists on Wednesday did not pass, when the internal clash exploded.
Then there was the letter from the correspondents, who opposed the idea of an external host without, however, explicitly asking for Ranucci’s confirmation. An omission not unnoticed by the loyalists of the current frontman of Report.
