MARINA DI PIETRASANTA. The agreement to immediately restart the Seven, at least the beach establishment, is in black and white: it was signed by the group of entrepreneurs taking over the business, the unions representing the fifty or so workers, and the trustee overseeing the bankruptcy procedure. Services on the beach will continue until September 30, then the phase will begin that will see the definitive handover to the new company that will take over the bath and the club-disco.

The turning point
In recent days, as also reported by Il Tirreno, there was hope that the negotiation with the entrepreneurial group coming from the nautical sector could be successful already this week. And so it was. “It is the first step to save the fifty or so jobs, including permanent contracts and others on call, that come with a historic and recognized brand like Seven,” says Daniela Ricchetti of Filcams Cgil, who is following the case along with colleague Andrea Vietina. It is also the first step for the rebirth of a legendary name in Versilia tourism and entertainment. “There is satisfaction after a complex negotiation, with many issues on the table and the workers’ position that risked being very fragile,” Ricchetti continues, “This does not mean everything is resolved, but in the meantime the first employees will return to work immediately (we are talking about seven people, ed.) and the others will be available to the new company that will now restart the beach activity.”
Who they are
There have been many rumors about who was behind the strong interest in the bath-disco, and now it is known: the representative of the company taking over Seven is the entrepreneur and former president of the provincial Cna of Lucca, Andrea Giannecchini. Giannecchini is currently president of the Technological District for Nautics and Port Activities of the Tuscany Region, appointed at the beginning of 2026. Originally from Massarosa, in 2001 he founded Yachtica (Viareggio Yachting Corporation), a company active in home automation – as well as lighting and automation – on board superyachts and gigayachts. He was also a member of the board of the Lucca Chamber of Commerce from 2015 until the merger, and is now on the Chamber Council of the Northwest Tuscany Chamber of Commerce. Alongside Giannecchini is Giuliano Tomei, another well-known Viareggio entrepreneur in the nautical sector, owner of Versilia Supply Service, a nautical supplies company with about fifty employees founded by Tomei himself. He is also known for his activity in Viareggio football, of which he was president and is now a partner. In the group of entrepreneurs taking over Seven there is also a Milanese family active in the real estate sector, whose identity is currently unknown. The fact remains that the investment in Seven – far from negligible, we are talking about millions of euros – is made by a group in which local entrepreneurs stand out who know well the debt and “structural” situation – meaning issues related to the state concession – of Seven. The first phase will see the lease of the business branch, with the continuation of beach service immediately and until September 30, the end of the season. Then it will move to the phase related to the bankruptcy procedure, with the direct takeover not only of the establishment but also of the club-disco. The Municipality would already have given its approval, whose role in the matter is delicate: the concession of Seven must be kept valid to avoid being considered expired and therefore put out to tender. The concession tender will take place, but with the terms of the other beach establishments (in 2027): the entrepreneurs trust their project to be able to continue also in the future.

Not just nostalgia
All this to say that the plan to restart Seven is the result not only of nostalgia, but of meticulous work that takes into account the many problems of recent times. Obviously, when thinking about the future of Seven and Canniccia, which is benefiting from the relaunch by Attilio Bindi, the mind immediately goes to the magical nights of past years. When Marina di Pietrasanta was the kingdom of nightlife, enriched by historic names like Faruk, Baby Jane, Vittoria, Phone rock… Maybe those times will not return – like youth – but Versilia has the potential to be once again the nerve center of nightlife.
