The region, as explained by the Tuscany Weather Center, is in the midst of the prefrontal phase linked to the worsening affecting Northern Italy, where the thunderstorm front has already caused particularly intense phenomena, with hailstones up to 10 centimeters in diameter and downburst gusts exceeding 120 km/h.
Weather changes in Tuscany: the Libeccio arrives
For Tuscany, however, the situation is set to change in the coming hours. The heat will gradually give way to the Libeccio, which will favor a decisive air exchange and finally make the climate more livable. A true return of cold is not expected, but the temperature drop will still be significant. Tomorrow (August 29) the highs could drop by 6-7 degrees, while on Sunday a drop of 7-8 degrees in the minimum values is expected. The sustained wind will also contribute to making the situation more pleasant, allowing for a climate that feels decidedly less oppressive than today.

Storm surge on the coast
The passage of the Libeccio will also bring very rough sea conditions. A force 5-6 storm surge is expected north of Vada, with increasing wave motion. During the entry of the new air mass, the passage of some modest showers moving from West to East is not excluded.
