The agreement approved by the court
The Florence court approved the agreement presented by the Tuscan actor, establishing a plan that provides for the payment of 500 euros per month for four years. The intervention of Garrone was decisive, with whom Ceccherini had collaborated on the screenplay of the film “Io capitano”.
The recourse to the minor agreement
The artist had resorted to the so-called “minor agreement with assignee,” one of the tools provided to address over-indebtedness situations. The procedure allows the regulation of the amounts owed also through the financial contribution of a third party.
The personal and health journey
In the ruling, the judge also reconstructed Ceccherini’s personal story. With the support of his partner, the actor would have undertaken a health path by turning to Serd, where he was diagnosed with a gambling disorder.

Addiction as the cause of the crisis
It is precisely the gambling addiction that is indicated as the main cause of the economic crisis and the accumulation of debts. According to the court, the actor’s conduct would not have been characterized by serious fault, because his financial decisions were influenced by a clinically documented pathology, capable of compromising his capacity for self-determination.
A prolonged addiction over the years
From the reconstruction contained in the ruling, a prolonged addiction over the years emerges. In 2006 alone, Ceccherini would have withdrawn 32 thousand euros over three months, allocating them to betting. A situation that would have continued in the following years, even during periods when the actor received new professional engagements, and more recently would have extended also to online gambling.
The “beast of gambling”
The addiction, described by Ceccherini himself in the autobiographical book published in 2025 as the “beast of gambling,” would therefore have deeply affected his personal and economic life. For the court, the artist went through a particularly difficult period, during which the pathology compromised the possibility of regularly meeting his financial commitments.
