There are deaths in Nepal due to the violent floods caused by heavy rains that hit the northern area of the country.

The river floods in the mountainous districts on the border with China have swept away houses, trucks, and roads, causing casualties and serious damage to infrastructure.
Rescue operations underway with helicopters and army teams
The Nepalese army has mobilized helicopters and rescue teams in the most affected areas. Energy infrastructure has also been damaged. Authorities also fear new floods and landslides.
Emergency also in China: victims and missing persons
The situation is critical also on the Chinese side of the border. Beijing state media reported a landslide in the Gyirong commercial port area, with numerous victims and missing persons. President Xi Jinping has ordered to strengthen search and rescue operations.
Farnesina: checks on Italians present in the area
The Crisis Unit of Farnesina is in contact with the Consulate General of Italy in Calcutta, the Honorary Consulate in Kathmandu, and the Embassy of Italy in Beijing to verify the possible involvement of Italian citizens and ensure assistance to compatriots.

Nepal, 384 travelers missing after the Bhote Koshi flood
The Nepal Tourism Board has identified 384 missing travelers, including 291 foreign citizens and 93 Nepalese, after the sudden flood of the Bhote Koshi river in the Rasuwa district.
The preliminary list was compiled based on information collected from ten tourist and travel agencies. The Tourism Board, Tourist Police, and sector operators are verifying the location and safety conditions of the people involved.
Among the missing, 105 Indian citizens
Of the 291 foreign citizens, 105 are Indian. The list also includes citizens from Australia, the Netherlands, the United States, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. For several other travelers, nationality has yet to be confirmed, while 37 people are listed as non-resident Indians.
